Abstract
In this study, we investigate the theme of Science Clubs in Basic Education. In the context of this dissertation, we relate it to other themes and concepts such as Scientific Literacy. In addition, we deepened the theme of Science Clubs and the use of Technologies as active didactic approaches emerging in the pandemic period (Covid-19) and possibly predominant in the post-pandemic period. Our objectives started from the premise of Science Clubs as pedagogical tools in the context of the use of active methodologies. With this approach, we expect students to participate actively learning science. In addition, it is possible to develop student’s educational skills in a practical, planned and teacher-mediated way taking scientific knowledge as a starter point. Furthermore, it enables the contextualization of scientific topics through scientific literacy. Based on this assumption, we aim in this study to investigate the contributions of science clubs in science teaching guided by active learning methods, adjusted for remote/online teaching, and contribute to active and autonomous participation of students. Throughout this study, we developed actions based on science club with the use of available technologies at a school in the Federal District (Brazil). From the experiences arising from these practices, considering theoretical basis of this study, an Educational Product was developed: Science and technology club: connecting students to scientific knowledge - Support material for Teachers. In this product, we present three work proposals to help teachers organizing different actions in the perspective of a science club.
