Abstract

The current Brazilian socio-economic-political moment is marked by crises. In it, there is an escalation of movements and actions that attempt against democracy. As an example, in the political arena, one can cite the impeachment of the late President Dilma Roussef, triggered by power plays that happened behind the scenes, which sought to change the political landscape in Brazil; in the educational sphere, which is also political, the recent persecution of Paulo Freire on the Internet constitutes, according to Walsh (2017), a demonstration of the new ways in which agents of perpetuation of coloniality are acting. Similarly, in Youth and Adult Education (EJA) the situation is no different. For years, young people and adults have suffered from non-compliance with legislation, which guarantees, in their favor, both the right to schooling, including access and permanence, respecting their personal characteristics. However, in spite of the Federal Constitution (BRASIL, 1988) and the Lei de Diretrizes e Bases (LDB) of 1996, important points should be made for this segment of basic education, such as, educating young and adult, this modality has faced difficulties ranging from the absence of public policies focused on the area to educational practices often inconsistent with the real need of the students. Having said that, it is assumed that the EJA in Brazil has a secondary status when it is contrasted with other segments of basic education, which may show a situation of deepening of inequalities, being, therefore, characterized as a place of perpetuation of the coloniality (ROSA, 2017). Based on this view, the objective of this study is to analyze the bibliographic stricto sensu productions, available in the Catalog of Thesis and Dissertations (CTD) of the Coordination of Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) and in the the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD) of the Brazilian Institute of Information in Science and Technology (IBCT), aiming at identifying and mapping these productions with regard to the date of defense, type of work, production by region, to the methodology chosen by the researchers, as well as to the theme and their theoretic choices, to analyze the evidence of (colonial) present in these works. For this, a bibliographic research (LIMA; MIOTO, 2007) was carried out with a qualitative interpretive perspective (ERICKSON, 1986; FLICK, 2009), in which seventeen productions were viiianalyzed, among which fifteen dissertations and two theses were found. Through the analysis of the material, one of the conclusions is that there are decolonial practices in scrutinized works, but there is still a marked predominance of English-language concepts that evidence remnants of coloniality.
