Abstract

The subsurface drip irrigation is an established technology for the efficient use of water, however, faces problems with clogging and root intrusion and geotextiles have been highlighted by excellent in performing the functions of filtration and separation, for example, in addition to its high permeability. However, to evaluate its influence on various parameters related to irrigated agriculture, such as plant development and training of the wet bulb is crucial, since these parameters can enhance their acceptance, so this study aimed to evaluate the influence of three nonwoven geotextiles to the development of the lettuce and the formation of the wet bulb. Testimony, geotextile N26.1, N30.1 and N40.1, termed T1, T2, T3 and T4 respectively: 4 treatments was established. What worked was developed in a greenhouse at IF Goiás - Urutaí Campus, with the DBC design with 5 replications, totaling 20 experimental plots. For vegetative assessment was evaluated every 5 days with height, length and width of the largest leaf, largest width between sheets (all with the aid of a millimeter ruler) and number of leaves, by simple counting and at the end of the experiment weighed on balance accurate to 0.01 g fresh weight and dry weight of aerial parts and roots. As for the evaluation of the wet bulb, we used a battery with 16 tensiometers, spaced 5 cm apart, at depths of 10, 20, 30 and 40 cm, distributed in the form of a cross, with a dripper isolated at the midpoint. Readings were performed before, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 24 and 48 hours after irrigation, which was based on the class A tank with an average of 1.4 L h -1 and shift strip 48 hours. Data from the vegetative development were submitted to analysis of variance and if significant, the averages were compared by Tukey's test with 95% confidence, and the data of the formation of bulbs, plotted in Surfer 11 software. Observed that T4 was statistically superior 20 DAT in length parameters largest leaf, number of leaves per plant and height, as for assessing the greatest width between sheets stood out from the 15 DAT. Regarding the data analyzed at the end of the experiment, it was higher for fresh weight of the root, since the other treatments were not statistically different. In assessing the influence of geotextiles to the formation of bulbs, it was found that T4 showed a more uniform distribution in relation to others, and treatments with geotextiles, retained their moisture for a longer period of time compared to the testimony. Therefore, it can be concluded that the best results expressed T4 and the geotextile improves the uniformity and keep the moisture, which can optimize the application, however, require more studies to affirm these findings.
