Planejamento governamental e migração dirigida : o caso do Território Federal de Rondônia - 1967-1981

Abstract

We seek to understand the relationship between governmental economic planning and migration policy specifically with regard to internal migration. Our object was the Federal Territory of Rondônia. Between the years of 1967 to 1981. Divided our research in three moments, in the first one, to understand the characteristics of governmental economic planning and its relationship with the agrarian problem and with the dynamics of the spatial distribution of the Brazilian population. In the second moment we present the distribution of the Brazilian population between the years of 1960 and 1980 and we discuss the conceptualization of internal migration and migratory politics and how the internal migratory flow of this period was directed to the Center-West region of the country. In the third moment we understand the factors that made Rondônia the territory that presented the highest rate of growth in the studied period, being the migration responsible for the great population contingent that went there. We seek to analyze and associate governmental economic planning with directed migration and how this association led the public power of an initial posture of stimulus to migration to Rondônia for actions of containment and redirection of the migratory flow to other areas, discouraging the coming to the Federal Territory of Rondônia.
