Memória e expectativa : a construção identitária no Quilombo de Pombal e as estratégias de sobrevivência no campo

Abstract

This study engages in check as reflected in the Remaining Community of Pombal Quilombo recognition as quilombo community, with ethnic rights guaranteed by the Constitution of 1988. Our research consisted mainly in assessing the narratives used by the community, sought in memory and in Current conditions offered by the government to recognize the group while remaining community as well as the group's consciousness about the benefits that this recognition brought him, ensuring better quality of life in the territory in which dwells a long time. They served us research sources acts and projects developed by the group, as well as oral narratives, predominantly, however, the methodology of oral research, ie, recorded interviews, submitted to analysis of the narratives contained therein. Thus, we take into account local narratives, which discoursing on his memoirs and local identity, as a result, text looks us about the discussion of memory and identity. The purpose in doing so was to determine the political use of these categories in the struggle for rights and life improvement in Pombal. In addition, we used documents such acts and to projects which, along with the narrative, gave us account that political action can be undertaken under the pretext of identity that takes.
