Abstract

Teaching seeks, ultimately, the socialization of knowledge systematized by science and new methodologies and approaches always arise in order to enrich and facilitate this process. Content appropriation is one of the priorities in the educational process. Discussions on Science and Technology, in addition to being rich, contribute to the critical, reflexive, conscious formation and capacity for decision making. One approach that confers the cited skills is the use of Socio-Scientific Questions in Science Teaching. With the general objective of analyzing the possibilities of insertion of Socio- Scientific Questions in the curriculum of the Goias State, the present dissertation was developed in three chapters that discussed from the theoretical foundations of the QSC's, in the disciplines of Sciences and Biology, to the elaboration of two educational products: a training workshop directed to the teachers of the State Education Network and a support material for teachers constituted by didactic sequences for the Teaching of Sciences and Biology. It is hoped that the data presented in this dissertation contribute to the improvement of the teaching-learning process in the disciplines of Science and Biology in the Goias state education network.
