Abstract

This research intends to demonstrate how the contexts of devotion, tradition, knowledge, flavors are related in the Folia de Reis and in the Folia do Divino Pai Eterno in Petrolina de Goiás and face the cultural and religious manifestations in the interior of Goiás The celebration of these Festivities acquires its own characteristics, with a strong appeal to its rural origins and manifesting itself in great diversity,according to the characteristics of each farm region within the municipality. The tradition and devotion of the Folias in the Municipality of Petrolina de Goiás address historical facts of the city's emergence, delfim into the formation of the town and later the families who inserted these traditions and rituals of the revelry, making up a route of various religious festivals. In this way, the revelries remain resistant even dealing with changes in space and time, and th eir groups of revelers are inserted and rotating in the countryside and in the city, because the F olia do Sindicato arises in the city and will be rotated in the countryside. When highlighting the revelry of the rural union, that is, Folia do Divino Pai Eterno, the importance of the peasant man in the elaboration of this revelry within the municipality, their prayers and the exchanges permeated within the rural universe with the preparation of the festivities through of the sociability of the act of sharing the flavors of food, communion and gift. The memory of the good flavors of the past helped these cooks consolidate the recipes passed down through generations. These recipes are kept for several years, surviving in this way alive with essential customs so that the party never ends.
