Letramento informacional e resolução de problemas no ensino de matemática : perspectivas para o letramento matemático

Abstract

The present dissertation is part of the research line - Methodologies and educational resources for science teaching of the Stricto Sensu Master's Degree Program in Science Teaching of the State University of Goiás. The general objective was to propose and investigate pedagogical practices of Information Literacy and Problem Solving in Mathematics teaching, in order to achieve Mathematical Literacy. The methodology used was bibliographic and field research, having as instrument of data collection the observation of students from four different 2nd grade classes of a state school in Alexânia-GO, between October/2019 and March/2020, presenting predominantly qualitative results. For data collection, it was used the observation record of students during the application of didactic sequences that dealt with the themes Information Literacy, Area and Volume of Geometric Solids and Matrices. These sequences compose the educational product, which is an e-book, which also includes tutorials for the tools MindMeister and Padlet, and suggestions for activities. In the proposed model, the teacher is a mediator and it was noticed that the research practice in the classroom served as a foundation for the construction of new concepts, considering that the proposed problems were starting points, i.e., introductory to the contents covered in the didactic sequences and did not aim to fix or finalize a content already covered. We emphasize that Information Literacy directly influences the achievement of Mathematical Literacy, which is about giving subsidies to students to understand mathematics in the modern world.
