Abstract
This study is an action research aimed to investigate textual productions and the perceptions
of students regarding the inclusion of reading and writing activities , using various text genresand making it a priority to verify the increase the level of literacy of these students , in thecurrent context cyberculture. Applied in presencial Portuguese classes, with a group of
elementary school and one high school, the developed activities sought to promote critical
thinking by students involved in research in order to understand contemporary social life as a
cultural plot resulting from discursive practices. In full emergence of cyberculture, internet is
considered to be the major source of information , which are updated and continually
multiply, with incredible rapidity, turning cyberspace. The fact that students and teachers are
increasingly accessing cyberspace that enables broad and meaningful learning opportunities
that make traditional processes increasingly obsolete teaching, giving rise to the
multimodality. Multimodal Technologies diffuse information beyond the printed, increasing
the mass media, multimedia and hypermedia electronics. So many school assignments, whichfocuses on literacy, can be carried beyond the school, revealing multimedia as support ofeducation . And that is what justifies this research : to investigate the communicative,
educational and social functions that literacy practices can offer students, enabling them to
reading and production (oral , written) of different textual genres, messages, research, amongothers, in the current context of cyberculture.
