PAC-Cidades Históricas na Cidade de Goiás : a requalificação do Cine Teatro São Joaquim

Abstract

The analysis of the requalification of Cine Teatro São Joaquim, in the Cidade de Goiás (City of Goiás), is the focus of this technical report. The main objective is to evaluate the implementation and evaluation of the PAC-Cidades Históricas (PAC-Historical Cities) public policy, in this building, from the notion of "place of memory" and identity. It investigates how the requalification of Cine Teatro took place, especially in the last two stages that make up the public policy. Thus, it is possible to understand how the selection of the space to be one of the works contemplated by the program occurred, the relationship of the residents with the space, in terms of memory, in addition to realizing how the reaction of Vilaboenses was with the demolition of the building to carry out the work in question. To answer these questions, bibliographic reviews were carried out, analysis of historical documentation of the construction and documents referring to the requalification process, in addition to the application of a questionnaire with the residents. The analysis of these documents reveals that the work of the Cine Teatro was altered after the beginning of the actions, leading to the dissatisfaction of the residents in relation to the demolition of the building for the conclusion of the work, because, despite this having been considered without heritage value, the building is a space permeated with memories and constitutes a cultural space of importance for the City. As a return of the work, a video-documentary was developed that tells the trajectory of Cine Teatro São Joaquim.
