Análise econômica de estratégias de suplementação de bovinos de corte em pastejo

Abstract

The objective of this study was to evaluate the productive responses and economic indicators of male and non-castrated Nellore cattle under different supplementation strategies in grazing with Urochloa Brizantha cv. Marandu, during the rearing or finishing phases, and in different seasons of the year. The data used to compose this study are individual results of six experiments carried out at CEPPEX-UFG, located in São Francisco de Goiás-Goiás, which formed a database with 864 individual data of animals obtained according to the experiment in which they were part. The production system adopted on the property consists of grazing in 16 paddocks of 1 hectare each, with no access of animals to the area before each experimental period in order to optimize forage availability. The daily supplement consumption was determined based on the animal's body weight, and subsequently the total consumption to calculate the nutritional costs. The total cost of each strategy, the purchase and sale value of the animals, and the economic indicators such as the cost of @ produced, break-even point, animal result in R$, and animal result per month in % were determined. Therefore, for the weighted supplementation systems, the most economically viable adopted supplementation levels of 1% and 2% of body weight, and obtained profitability of 14.26% and 7.10%, respectively. There was variability in the results even with the same supplementation level adopted and at the same time of year.
