A ideologia nacionalista e a expansão dos Colégios da Polícia Militar no estado de Goiás

Abstract

The present essay, Nationalist Ideology and the Expansion of Military Police Schools in the State of Goiás, analyzes the militarized public schools in the State of Goiás, also known as Military Police Schools of Goiás (CPMG). Its objective is to investigate whether there is a relationship between the expansion of the Military Police Schools of Goiás and the nationalist ideologies that once again manifest in Brazil. Under this perspective, bibliographic and documentary research was conducted to investigate the historical process of the creation of Military Police Schools in Goiás, in order to analyze their expansion, observe its connections with the brazilian nationalism of the early 20th century, especially the one related to the Nationalist Leagues against illiteracy, and the contemporary reasons for such expansion. As a result, it was possible to confirm the existence of multiple connections between nationalist ideologies and the expansion of the Military Police Schools in Goiás.
