Folia e foliões, memória e identidade : inventário cultura das folias de reis em Itaugari-GO

Abstract

The object that sustains this work are the Folia de Reis, the Folia from Brejo Grande, the Folia Goiana from Itaguari and the Folia Mineira from Itaguari, that occurs in the city of Itaguari/GO, a cultural manifestation of immaterial nature presented in form of celebrations and festivities that praise to the Holy Kings, whose religious inspiration has its origin in the biblical account of the visitation of these characters to Baby Jesus. This tradition, rooted in popular culture, has immeasurably spread, reaching the scope of the identities of the subjects involved, and mainly, maintaining strong meanings in the memories of these people. The objective is the construction of a cultural inventory, which will serve to support the request for the registration of the folias as intangible cultural heritage of Itaguari, as well,l it has the purpose of making didactic materials about the folias. Will be adopted the method of the National Inventory of Cultural References. The data collection will be from ethnographic research, in oral, iconographic and bibliographical sources. The results obtained from the research were a series of information that make up the folias inventory, the cultural inventory of each one of the folias, and the photographic, sound and audiovisual records still must be added. These datas will be used to make a documentary video and be displayed to the community and made available on the internet.
