Porque foi que cegamos : "Ensaio sobre a cegueira" e a pandemia no Brasil (2020-2021)

Abstract

Based on the reading of Blindness essay, 1995, by José Saramago, and the adaptation for the cinemas Blidness, 2008, by Fernando Meirelles, we analyze in this work, from a critical and comparative perspective, the points of contact between Saramago's text with the pandemic context of Brazil (2020-2021). We use the metaphor to establish a dialogue between the narrative images, present in the novel, the frames of the film adaptation Blindness, 2008, by Fernando Meirelles, with Bolsonaro's phrases and the press articles available on the Web about the management of the pandemic by the Brazilian government. For that, we use the theory about the contemporary, by Giorgio Agamben, the dialectical image and the survival of the image, by Didi-Huberman.
