Toponímia e literatura : os lugares vilaboenses na poética de Cora Coralina

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the names of places present in the work of Cora coralina (prose or poetry), because it recognizes that, linked to the toponyms, underlie the perceptions of the denominator about the named place, with indications of the historical landmarks and the physical characteristics, cultures of the named place. This perspective guides toponymic studies in the sense of investigating proper names of place names to verify the motivations that permeate the choice of a name for a place. Thus, the hypothesized that such toponyms (present in Coraline`s poetics) are like points on the map through which the characters move and orient themselves in the face of the unfolding of the narrative or the verses. In this way, it is expected to contribute to toponymic studies, regarding the relationship between onomastic studies and Goiás literature to demonstrate how the names of places are intertwined whit the composition of the characters, also making it possible to rescue elements of culture and historical facts that permeate the naming of vilaboense places, thus considering the humanistic and interdisciplinary character of which the choice of a name to designate a physical or cultural place. As for the methodology it is a qualitative descriptive and documentary research, which is linked to Toponomastics, a branch of Onomastics, more directly to the studies undertaken by Ananias and Zamariano (2014a) (2014b); Andrade (2015); Biderman (1981) (1986) (1987) (1998a) (1998b) (2001); Cabrera (2002); Carvalinhos (2009); Castro (2018) (2020); Dick (1975) (1990) (1992); Isquerdo (1996) (1997) (2012); Moreira (2010); Seide (2013) (2020); Silva (2017); Silva (2016) (2020); Siqueira (2012) (2014) (2015) (2017) (2018) (2020) (2022) (2023a) (2023b); Trapero (1994) (1999), among others, in order to differentiate the method and categorizations most suitable for the study of toponyms. For the constitution of the corpus, specific procedures of the onomasiological path in the literature of Coralina (2014a) (2014b) are used, whose elements are cataloged and considered as patrimonial lexicon.
