Abstract
Microfocused ultrasound with therapeutic function has been increasingly studied and used due to its inducing actions of tissue processing. Studies show that the ultrasonic waves generated by the device, when converted into heat, enable the activation of fibroblasts, which initiate an inflammatory response concentrated at the site, with intense production and reorganization of the dermal tissue, in particular through collagen and elastin fibers. Ultrasound also increases local neocollagenesis and neoelastogenesis. Therefore, this study is necessary in relation to the effects of this treatment in patients with muscle flaccidity, wrinkles and expression lines. Objective: to analyze the effects of ultrasound therapy in the treatment of facial rejuvenation treatment by comparing photographs before and after the sessions, as well as the results of satisfaction surveys regarding the treatment, describing the treatment from an aesthetic point of view and the inductive aspects of ultrasound. Methodology: the work is characterized by experimental research with fortnightly sessions following the protocol and specifications described. The present study was divided into two phases. In the first phase, 20 patients aged between 31 and 68 years were recruited. In the second phase, another six patients were recruited who served, at the same time, as the “study and control” group, aged between 25 and 62 years. Results: Ultrasonic therapy influenced a reduction in the appearance of sagging, attested by the post-procedure images and the personal opinion of the participants. Conclusion: Ultrasound therapy proved to be effective and satisfactory in this study in the facial and neck regions that were affected by sagging, wrinkles and expression lines.
