Fiandeiras e tecedeiras do Xixá em redes de sociabilidades : uma perspectiva para a economia solidária e para a valorização do saber-fazer

Abstract

The aim of this research, which is part of the Culture, Preservation and Identities line of research, is to understand the historical and cultural trajectory, the condition of (re)existence and the possibilities of valuing the know-how of handmade spinning and weaving in the municipalities of Itapuranga and Guaraíta - GO, in order to strengthen its visibility and analyze the consolidation of a sociability network between spinners and weavers as a way of generating income. The research involves an analysis of spinning and weaving techniques at national, state and local level - in the region known as Xixá. The following methodological steps were taken: 1) a literature review; 2) interviews with spinners and weavers from Itapuranga and Guaraíta - GO, amounting 58 interviews using the Snowball identification methodology and Oral History techniques, with the aim of portraying and recording life story narratives and individual and collective memories about the know-how;estuo 3) participatory inventory, carried out through fieldwork to collect information about the group, photographic records and documentation of the repertoire of cultural references. The results indicate that the solidarity economy can be an alternative for strengthening the sociability networks of the women spinners and weavers of Xixá. Case-studies in various regions have shown that co-ops, associations and Local Productive Arrangements (LPAs) have been fundamental in stimulating the development and appreciation of traditional spinning and weaving techniques. Moreover, the product entitled Fiandeiras e tecedeiras do Xixá: o inventário de um saber-fazer represents a first step towards recognition and future investment in this cultural asset in the municipalities of Itapuranga-GO and Guaraíta-GO.
