A folia e os festejos do Divino Espírito Santo : (re)existência sociocultural em Matrinchã/Goiás

Abstract

The theme of this research is the study of the revelry and celebrations of Divine Holy Ghost in Matrinchã/GO, with the intent of understanding its main characteristic elements and the importance of this celebration in the construction of the people of Matrinchã identity. For this, the formal and celebratory structure will be analyzed, in order to know and understand the ceremonials, rituals, food preparation, paths, songs, instruments, ornamental objects, the catira dance, symbolic representations, the memories that permeate this cultural manifestation of the people of Matrinchã and that contribute to the maintenance of traditions and the preservation of material and immaterial heritage in this territory. Thus, this study seeks to contribute to the debate on the importance of this festival and the need for its recognition as a cultural manifestation, which has not yet been included as coisas part of the set of heritage assets in the municipality of Matrinchã. The Revelry of the Divine is a manifestation of popular Catholicism celebrated in several states in Brazil and its historical roots can be traced tô Portugal at the end of the 13th century. The following structuring concepts are adopted: Cultural History, cultural heritage, memory, identity and festivity.
