Abstract
The present work is part of the research line Linguagem e Práticas Sociais, of the Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação, Linguagem e Tecnologias, da Universidade Estadual de Goiás. Thus, it presents an investigation that sought, from and in the context of the Public Policies in the Bolsonaro government with the aim of analyzing the articulation of the discourse in the public policies of this government in relation to Mathematics and gender issues - through a Foucauldian perspective of discourse - in relation to Mathematics itself, in a post-structuralist strand. The research is developed within the assumptions of a qualitative, bibliographical, and documental nature. The study was structured in correspondence. A textual genre that implies a dialogical relationship, of intense communication. In a Foucauldian perspective, we did not use rigid criteria for the definition of the corpus, but rather, varied elements in a historical path, reflecting on issues and events during the government of the then President Bolsonaro. With this, speeches, technical documents, reports, posts on social networks and etc. composed the corpus of this investigation.
Historically, mathematics is the heir even of Western logocentrism and functions as its own way of maintaining logocentrism in the contemporary scenario. Thus, it is observed that the
description of the statements of the then president and his government showed that the linguistic formulations are more frequently linked to absolutist and logocentric discourses of mathematics. Our investigation also showed that an absolutist and/or logocentric discursive formation continues to strongly cross the discourses of the subjects of a political and social context.
