As mudanças toponímicas de Palmeiras de Goiás

Abstract

This work aims to analyze the toponymic constructions in the municipality of Palmeiras de Goiás. Theoretical and methodological approaches to research in Toponomastics will be listed, especially the toponymic changes in the municipality through documental analysis and bibliographic nature with selection of texts present in articles, books, dissertations, theses among other research sources, which will serve as a basis for construction and theoretical-critical development of this research. It will seek to understand the motivations behind the choice of place names with contributions from scholars such as: Benveniste (2005), Biderman (1998/2001), Camargo (2018), Dick (1990/1992/1996/), Isquerdo (1997/2012), Pereira (2013), Quintela (2003/2006), Saussure (2006), Seide (2013), Siqueira (2015/2021), Zamariano (2012/2015) among others. With the notes discussed here, the development of research in this area of Linguistics reveals the importance and the different paths that the toponymy of Goiás has presented and contributed to Brazilian linguistic science.
