Abstract
The ongoing research, entitled Social inequalities and education: an analysis based on the Bolsa Família Program in the municipality of Hidrolândia – GO, is linked to the Postgraduate Program in Education at the State University of Goiás – Inhumas Unit. It is of a bibliographic and documentary nature, with a qualitative approach, its proposition is the analysis of numerical figures and percentages about the PBF in Brazil and in the municipality of Hidrolândia, as well as, it is based on analysis categories that will emerge from the set of data found. The execution of the research is characterized by exploratory work, taking into account the systematized and investigative nature of the topic. It takes as a method the critical analysis of the topic and seeks explanatory and comprehensive elements in the field of production and implementation of the policy in question. Its research problem is: The Bolsa Família Program, as an Income Transfer Program, based on the “Education” conditionality (School attendance of 85% for children and adolescents between 6 and 15 years old) present in the design of the Program, can contribute to reduce dimensions of social inequality, especially educational inequality? As a general objective, it seeks to analyze, based on policy, documentary data and legislation, the effectiveness of the Bolsa Família Program (PBF) in the municipality of Hidrolândia, with an emphasis on the relationship between social vulnerability and education, focusing on the Education conditionality. The specific objectives are: a) Analyze the PBF as a social policy, its historicity and its relationship with school education; b) Using numerical data, relate educational inequality and social vulnerability in the context of implementing the PBF in Hidrolândia; c) Evaluate the Education conditionality in the Bolsa Família Program and its effectiveness in municipal public schools in the city of Hidrolândia. It is understood that the PBF proposes the difficult mission of trying to break the cycles of poverty that mark the generations of families served. The legal text advocates the realization of the right to Education as a fundamental element of the social inclusion of families, understanding school education as a condition for the construction of knowledge, human development and social protection for children and adolescents. In this sense, the present work assessed that the PBF plays an important role in reducing poverty levels among the population served and contributes to keeping children and adolescents in school, even through its conditionalities.
