A violência doméstica contra as mulheres e as políticas de enfrentamento (Caldas Novas, 2011 - 2021)

Abstract

This master’s dissertation aims to identify domestic violence and analyze coping policies in Brazil, which have been increasingly triggered by society. Since the 1970s feminism and women’s struggles have been punctual for the actions and implementation of such policies. As theoretical references, we had the contribution of authors such as Heleieth Saffioti, Mary Del Priore, Rachel Soihet, Joana Maria Pedro, Gerda Lerner, Michelle Perrot, who discuss the topic of violence against women as well as their search for their rights. The methodological approach was based on bibliographic review and sources that expose access to coping policies added to data related to domestic violence in Caldas Novas. The source of data consulted was the notification forms of care for women in situations of violence in the health system, made available by the Núcleo de Vigilância e Epidemiologia from the municipality of Caldas Novas, and visits to CREAS, CEVAM from Caldas Novas and CEVAM from Goiânia, DEAM, Guardianship Council and Military Police. From the analysis of the sources, this research allowed us to understand that society is already able to recognize domestic violence as a social issue and to do its part by reporting those cases to the police, as well as women who seek coping policies. In addition to society, it is a State’s role to ensure that women have freedom and equal rights, with the possibility of accessing policies that guarantee them security through integrated education, health and public safety measures, made available by the State to this group, since domestic violence violates human rights and limits social development.
