Abstract
This study discusses the context of the Lato Sensu graduate of Goiás State University (UEG). this perspective, the research sought to highlight how the offer of the graduate Lato Sensu UEG and its articulation with the professional-educational development in the state of
Goias, in the period from 1999 to 2017. The main objective of the work was to analyze the
trajectory and institutional policies of the graduate that specifically govern the Lato Sensu of
UEG and its relationship with the continuing training of teachers being, their specific
objectives, to know the policy Institution of UEG's Lato Sensu postgraduate courses, map the of UEG's Lato Sensu graduate courses, and discover the vision of the subjects on
the role of the Lato Sensu graduate whether it contributes, or not, to the continuing training ofteachers and with local educational development. In order to achieve these, the qualitative
research was used, from the case study, following a descriptive and interpretative line and,
making use of the documentary and Field research. The participants of the research were, the of the Graduate courses Lato Sensu da UEG, the Secretary of the general
coordination of Lato Sensu da UEG, 148 students of the six campus of the central region of
the state of Goiás and, the vision of each one on the thematic in Question. The results of this
research show that the proposals of UEG's Lato Sensu graduate programs seek to prioritize
local demands for the purpose of producing knowledge and technology in all areas of
knowledge, concentrating on the subarea of expertise , education, directed towards the
continuing training of teachers, with the proposal to articulate teaching and research and
articulate with the local educational process, addressing relevant and current topics accordingto the context of the daily school. However, it is understood that, although UEG is animportant locus of teacher training, by means of Lato Sensu specializations, other areas of
knowledge need to be offered to local communities, so that in fact the demands of labor
Specialized in the state of Goias are supplied, as established in the legal documents of UEG.
