História, memória e transformações no ambiente urbano em Quirinópolis (GO): um estudo a partir das lembranças e percepções dos habitantes (2000- 2023)

Abstract

The main objective of this dissertation is to reflect on the transformations produced by economic development in the city of Quirinópolis (GO) based on the memories of the inhabitants who have lived in the locality since at least the beginning of the 21st century. To achieve this objective, three chapters were developed: the first portraying the History of Quirinópolis based on academic studies on the city and the works of memoirists who wrote about the city; the second reflecting on the foundations of the History of Cities as an approach based on historical and geographic sciences, aiming to understand the importance of working with the memories of all cities; and the third starting from the memories of the city's inhabitants to understand the transformations in Quirinópolis and the impact on the city's history and memory. In the end, it is intended that the work constitutes a significant contribution not only to the history of the city of Quirinópolis, but to academic reflections dedicated to understanding the dynamics that mark the many small and medium-sized locations in the interior of Brazil.
