Festa em louvor a São José em Mossâmedes-GO : patrimônio e memória de uma cidade (2000-2020)

Abstract

When we analyze the social and cultural practices of Mossamedes City in the State of Goias - Brazil, it is remarkable how these are supported by the foundation of religiosity. For this reason, we named the Feast in Praise to São José in Mossamedes, as our research object, in order to analyze the relationship between heritage and memory from that Feast, in the period from 2000 to 2020, to understand the constitution of cultural heritage and the city's social memory. The methodology used was submitted in four stages: the first, a review of classic and contemporary authors who discuss heritage, memory, identity, cities, popular catholicism, religious festivals, social network and ICTs in education; the second was an investigative stage, through a survey of written (minutes, posters, folders) and photographic documents in the Parish of Mossamedes and in the City Hall; the third one was formed by the elaboration and realization of ten semi-structured interviews with the managing team of the feast, the fourth stage consisted in the elaboration of the research report together with Instagram. Through field research, several data were collected regarding the structures, planning, management, symbols and representations of the celebration. The final product was the production of educational videos linked to the Instagram platform as the main means of dissemination. In that material, data, photographs, excerpts from minutes and interviews were made available, telling about the Feast in Praise to São José, the city's history and the main cultural practices of the city. The research aimed to understand the culture and identity of the people from Mossamedes City and the creation of the product consisted of encouraging the preservation of that festival as an intangible heritage of the city.
