Sons musicais, natureza e cerrado : a realidade da banda "13 de maio", Corumbá de Goiás,GO, Brasil

Abstract

The present dissertation has as its theme the Band “13 de Maio” from the municipality of Corumbá de Goiás-GO and the songs that surround it, from the point of view of its relationship with nature, from the assumptions of Ecomusicology. The general objective of this work is to investigate the history of the Banda “13 de Maio” from the municipality of Corumbá de Goiás-GO and the relationship of its songs with elements of nature, in particular, portrayals of the Cerrado. The specific objectives are intended to research the Banda “13 de Maio”, its history and performance in relation to nature, in particular the Cerrado; to investigate the relationship of the Banda “13 de Maio” as a cultural subsidy and to point out the importance of this study in the formation of Ecomusicology in Brazil, a recent field that has been expanding and emphasizes the study of music, culture and nature. The research is part of a qualitative analysis based on a descriptive approach. Field research consisted of two approaches; analysis of the interviews in the documentary, “Memories of a Centenary Band: Corporación Musical “13 de Maio” and visits to the headquarters of the Band “13 de Maio”. Data were collected in four moments; survey and characterization of the Band, collection of information regarding the origin, repertoire and historicity, exploratory surveys of materials published on social networks, and finally, elaboration/application of semi-structured interviews with the musicians of the Band “13 de Maio”. The result found points out that alongside the degradation of the Cerrado biome, there is a Band, in the interior of Goiás, aware that the devastation of this important biome needs to be denounced. However, the musicians agree that the Banda “13 de Maio” has a fundamental role in terms of preserving and promoting the value of the Cerrado. In view of this, it was proposed that the Banda “13 de Maio” debut on the day of the defense of this dissertation, the song “Planalto dos Pirineus” by Ramir Curado, whose lyrics are totally dedicated to the beauties of the Cerrado biome.
