Abstract

The search for substances that can be used as medicines is a long and highly complex which begins with the development of new bioactive compounds. The present study developed the synthesis, physicochemical characterization and evaluation of antitumor activity against three tumor cell lines of melanoma (MDA-MB-435), colon (HCT-8) and central nervous system (SF-295) ketone-sulfonamides and chalcones-sulfonamides. Two ketones-sulfonamides and eleven compounds derived from chalconessulfonamides were obtained through organic synthesis. All compounds were purified by slow evaporation crystallization and characterized by ¹H NMR, FTIR and MS. Antitumor tests were performed at the Laboratory of Experimental Oncology at UFC. All compounds had your evaluated cytotoxicity against three tumor cell lines previously mentioned. Among the compounds synthesized only 1[2,5-dichlore-4'-phenyl-Nphenylsulfonilamide]-3-(4-nitro phenyl)-2E-propen-1-one and 1[4'-N-phenyl-phenylsul- fonilamide]-3-(4-nitrophenyl)-2 E-propen-1-one showed significant cytotoxic activity.
