Economia da fome: um estudo sobre a (in) segurança alimentar em Goiás pós modernização agrícola

Abstract

The objective that gave rise to this dissertation was to study food insecurity in Goiás in the period after agricultural modernization of the period of the Military Dictatorship (1964-1985), which brought with it the technological package of the Green Revolution and which involved the adoption of new planting technologies. in an attempt to solve the problem of hunger in the so- called underdeveloped countries, using Frederico (2008) and Pires'(2009) research as a basis. Soon after, the concept of food security was discussed and a historical survey of public policies against hunger in Brazil was made, through Susan George (1978), Adas (1988) and Josué de Castro (1984). Finally, data on food insecurity in the period of the pandemic in Brazil were analyzed, and then, using PNAD data, the results of research on food insecurity in Goiás in the post-2000 period were analyzed.
