Abstract

The issue of pesticides has taken on a significant dimension in recent decades, especially from the reaction of social movements and the population in general regarding its effects negative effects on health and the environment. The fragility of the available data and, largely cases, the lack of information on production, consumption and related impacts is unresolved problems, which hinder regulation and open debate on this issue. In that In this sense, our general objective in this work is to understand the dynamics of production and communication of data on pesticides in Brazil. Specifically, we also aim to: contextualize and characterize the insertion of pesticides in Brazil based on production/communication of data; survey and analyze sources and data on pesticides in Brazil; systematize data related to pesticides, establishing a methodology for research, collection and dissemination of information. The methodology used is based on different approaches. We left at first chapter, to identify the main sources of data, from a Systematic Literature Review, where a total of 498 were identified (using the words agricultural pesticides and pesticides). citations, which were organized into a list of sources. This list will be studied in detail in the in order to understand how the information is used by the pesticide industry or other agribusiness agents in an ideological perspective of strengthening corporations. In case of Pesticides Observatory, in the last chapter, we will study different methodologies studied for systematizing information (such as Pignati and Bombardi) to arrive at the best possible methodology for systematizing and communicating information. work is organized into 3 (three) chapters: 1. The formation of the pesticide industry, the consolidation of corporations and the construction of information in Brazil; 2. Data sources/production and communication about pesticides in Brazil; 3. Observatory of pesticides: construction of methodologies for systematization and communication of information on pesticides.
