Abstract
Due to its excellent development and high vigor of germination, potential wood, medicinal,
silvicultural, food, nitrogen fixation and shading the baruzeiro is pointed out as one of the 10
species of the Cerrado with greater potential of cultivation. Thus, the present work had as
objective to evaluate the production of baru tree seedlings in different containers and growing
environments. The experiments were carried out in two periods of seedlings production, being
the first from September to December of 2016 and the second from January to April of 2017
evaluated separately in the State University of Goiás, Campus Ipameri, located in the
municipality of Ipameri-GO with 17th 43'00.80 "south latitude and 48 ° 08'42.43" W of
longitude and altitude of 800 m. The experimental design was completely randomized in a 4 x
3 factorial scheme, with four environments (control or pelno sol, straw, plastic film, Sombrite®
screen) and three types of containers (tubes of 120, 290 and 820 cm³), with 30 repetitions for
each type of cartridge. The following evaluations were performed in the two experiments
separately: first emergency count, total emergency, emergence speed index, relative chlorophyll
index, plant height, collection diameter, leaf number, leaf area, shoot fresh matter and root,
shoot dry matter and root and Dickson quality index. The results were submitted to analysis of
variance (test F) and the means compared by the Tukey test at 5% probability for production
environments and containers. In the first production of seedlings, the environments Sombrite®,
full sun and straw are considered the best environments for the development of the Dipteryx
alata Vog. Already in the second growing season, the recommended environment for the
production of baru seedlings is Sombrite®. With regard to the containers the volume of 820
cm³ is the most recommended for the production of baru seedlings in the two experiments.
