Abstract

The use of Si in agriculture has become increasingly common, especially on grass, because it shows the improvement of physiological functions and health of cultivated plants and result in higher productivity, higher quality seeds and less use of pesticides. This work aimed to study the influence of Silicon (Si), production and physiological quality of two soybean cultivars seeds. The study was conducted in the experimental field of the State University of Goiás (UEG) Ipameri Campus. Using completely randomized blocks in factorial scheme 2 x 6 (cultivars x doses) with four replications. two early maturing soybean cultivars of indeterminate growth habit were used: IN 7490 AS 3730 RR and RR2 IPRO (Intact) with spacing of 40 cm, initial population of 375,000 plants ha-1. Sowing was carried out mechanically, the tillage system, with vacuum seeder. The application of silicon was carried out in the planting furrow, manually after sowing and before emergence. The treatments were: 0; 125; 250; 500, 625 and 750 kg ha-1 Si. Using as a source the Silicate of calcium and magnesium powder. The harvest was done manually. We evaluated the characteristics linked to productivity (production of components), Si content and Chlorophyll and physiological quality of the seeds harvested. Data were submitted to analysis of variance (F test) and the means were compared by Tukey test at 5% probability. Statistical analyzes were processed using the Statistical Analysis SANEST program. silicon doses do not interfere in soybean seed yield. Regardless of the application of silicon to grow NA7490 RR produced seeds with better physiological quality. The application of silicon doses influenced the viability of the seeds of the cultivar IN 7490 RR to the dose of 345.5 kg ha-1 Si.
