Abstract
Environmental Education seeks to provide individuals and communities with processes for building social values, knowledge, skills, attitudes and competencies aimed at environmental conservation, a common good essential to quality of life and sustainability. In turn, the Literature, when conceived in the school environment, in an interdisciplinary way, is able to provoke feelings and emotions, and thus act in the formation of world consciousness, which is also the objective of Environmental Education. This dissertation has as a general objective to analyze the challenges and potentialities of working on Literature and Environmental Education in an interdisciplinary way at school. For this, in the first chapter we present a contextualization of the theoretical components that situate the Environmental Education as a transversal theme in the spaces of teaching and discussion of the importance of Literature as an element of local cultural expression and social empowerment. In the second chapter, we present a bibliographical review that situates the scientific works that deal with the subject Literature and Environmental Education in Brazil. In the third chapter we present works that discuss Literature as a form of cultural expression. Finally, the fourth chapter contemplates the Educational Product linked to the dissertation. This presents a Cycle of Interdisciplinary Pedagogical Workshops between Literature and Environmental Education developed, applied and analyzed in the real context of the School of Basic Education. The investigation carried through, throughout this research of Masters, allows us to affirm that it is possible to work the Environmental Education and the Literature of interdisciplinary form, however there is need of disposition and engagement on the part of teachers and managers, besides, the students must predispose themselves to learn of active form giving opening for new experiences.
