Formação x-eiro : uma perspectiva construcional no português do Brasil

Abstract

This research aims to describe and analyze the functionality of [x-eiro/a} construction, in Brazilian Portuguese (PB), based on theories of language in use, especially the Construction Grammar. This work aims to collaborate with the studies of Brazilian Portuguese (PB), since the approaches pointed out in the traditional studies possibly do not satisfactorily provide the systematization of this construction as well as its high productivity in a network. The theoretical presuppositions that subsidize the research come from the LFCU and the Construction Grammar because they consider that the language is realized in the use and that the internal organization of the language is shaped by the contextual, social, cultural and historical conditions of the speaker, that is, marked by communicative practices of a linguistic community. The theoretical assumptions used by Croft (2001), Furtado da Cunha, Oliveira and Martelotta (2015), Givón (2001), Goldberg (1995, 2006), Gonçalves (2016), Langacker (2013), Neves 2008), Traugott and Trousdale (2013). From these theoretical contributions, it is possible to postulate that the structure of language is forged in experience, both historical and everyday, and also derives from cognitive processes. This study aims to investigate the productivity of the X-eiro/-eira (lexical base + suffix) construction in a constructional perspective, pointing out its different meanings from instantiated structures in the linguistic use, as well as its network organization. The data of Corpus of the Brazilian Portuguese for diachronic studies and the Corpus of the Fala Goiana are used for studies of synchronic aspects, these have a significant database capable of promoting analyzes that fulfill the objectives of this research, collaborating to the knowledge of the grammar of PB. The initial results inform the different semantic meanings concerning this morpheme, as well as new jobs (morphological and semantic) of the morpheme -eiro/-eira.
