Abstract

It is designed to argue the process of the history of movie theaters in the municipality of Ipameri, state of Goiás, from the years 1912 to 2000, accentuated with the arrival of the iron rails of the Ferrovia Mogiana, coming from the municipality of Araguari, state of Minas Gerais , in the Triângulo Mineiro region, with the inauguration of the first railway station in 1913. The process of implementing movie theaters began in 1912, with the construction of a shed made of cloth with acetylene light, installed in a way the first cinema room was improvised. In 1915, the second room was built, a project inspired by movie theaters in the city of Rio de Janeiro. In the year 1936, the cinema room, named Éden Ipamerino (third cinema room in the municipality), begins to function. In 1939, with the strengthening of Hollywood cinema and the improvement of the quality of its productions, Cine São Paulo emerged, through a restructuring process, as the fourth movie theater. In 1956, the Cine Teatro Estrela was inaugurated, located in front of Praça da Liberdade. With an increasing audience, in 1958, he inaugurated Cine Boa Vista, both operating until the mid-1960s, when Cine Boa Vista ended its activities. Cine Teatro Estrela remained for decades, ending its activities on February 19, 1991. The construction of this dissertation started from a deductive logic, which starts from the idea of the general to the specific, elucidating modernism as a transforming agent of Ipamerin society, contextualizing the history of the audiovisual and its filmic representations in the municipality, concluding with the decline and closing of the movie theaters. cinema, in the 1990s, making Ipameri an orphan of the movie theater and the railway station, contextualizing it with the end of a cycle that had been of great value in the process of modernity and the construction of history. In the process of analyzing the documents and books at the João Veiga de Ipameri Municipal Library, it was noted that there was a lack of collections and Course Completion Works focused on themes related to cinema and the railway line. Another eloquent fact is the absence of authors from Goiás who discuss or mention the productions and historiography of Goiás cinema as a bibliographic reference. From the years 1912 to 2000, the necessary information was scrutinized, accessing works by memoirists who thematized the cinema and the railroad of the time. Thus, it is evident that the peak of the early 20th century, with the arrival of the iron train, the implementation of electricity and the installation of the cinema room, contrasts with the decline of the railroad and the closure of the cinema room at the end of the 19th century. 1990's.
