Conflitos e temores das mães de adolescentes egressos de medida socioeducativa de internação em Goiânia

Abstract

This dissertation examines mothers‘ cases whose sons were under a social educational measure of detention in Goiania, aiming to understand how these mothers express fears, conflicts and visions about their children, about their breeding and about this kind of social educational measure. For that we choose to study this context using categories of family / childhood / maternity / adolescence and violence. To this end, semi-structured interviews with six mothers had been made, analyzed from the historical and social approach. It was noticed that mothers surveyed are embedded in popular class families, and they headed their homes. Before admission of their sons, the mothers are absent and had delegated the role of care to others, because they had to work to meet the financial needs of the family. During this social educational measure, however, these mothers are always present and report feelings of guilt, suffering, sense of injustice and also trying to protect but their involvement on this process is restricted to their visit to the sons. They bring both the conception that this social educational measure of detention was unfair as protective. The paper concludes that the fears and visions of adolescents‘ mothers express contradictions present in public and social policies that are peculiar to capitalist society that preaches inverse and conflicting values.
