Abstract
This work considers education as the formation of human life so that it can be carried out in its ethical-political-aesthetic-spiritual dimensions. It starts from the principle that education has the purpose of forming a life that has meaning, that is, a life capable of formulating values and equations so that man can answer fundamental questions about reason or reasons for living. The object of this dissertation will be an integrated education as the human and natural formation that allows the man to understand in the scope of his social relations. Therefore, it concerns man's being in the world and also his self-understanding, which, being favored by education, develops and grows in a virtuous way. The objective will be to study education for freedom in the work Emile or on Education published by the modern philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau in 1762. In Emile, Rousseau consigned the steps of this education by dividing the work into five, each of which corresponds to a fundamental stage in the education of man. Therefore, this work will ask about the meaning of an education for freedom. Basically, it is about asking about the formation of man, as Rousseau thought in Emile, highlighting, at the same time, the question about human
freedom. Such will be carried out considering the humanistic, existential and theistic perspective, typical of the modern philosopher.
