Abstract

The use of production systems that enable and enhance the conservation of the physical, chemical and biological properties of the soil is a practice that will allow achieving more sustainable forms of management and, above all, less harmful to the environment. The physical quality of the soil is deeply related to the sustainability of agricultural systems, so its evaluation needs to be done using indicators that make it possible to reproduce its performance according to the use and management of the soil. Many attributes need to be measured to determine how management acts on soil properties, as well as how they relate to the plant, of which the most frequently used physical indicators are: granulometric composition, density, porosity, stability of aggregates, resistance to penetration, infiltration, water holding capacity. Systematic studies make it possible to measure and assess new conclusions about pasture production management, through the results of primary research. The aim of this study was to carry out a systematic review with meta-analysis, based on the different management practices (ILPF, ILP and conventional pasture production system) adopted for forage production and to analyze how these soil uses interfere with its quality, as well as how these correlations reflect on pasture productivity. It was possible to notice positive results for the use of soil conservation systems for pasture production, which favorably contributes to the conservation, preservation and maintenance of the physical quality of the soil, however, positive outcomes were noted for the conventional pasture production system, suggesting that: either in the last ten years the way of producing pasture has undergone positive changes, or that integrated production systems require better technical monitoring, which prioritize the best way of implementing this system, as it is believed that its results are positive, promising and indisputable.
