“Torto aradona” função social da terra : diálogos entre literatura e direito

Abstract

The novel "Torto ara do" (2018) is a contemporary work that has b een attracting interest from readers and literary critics. Contemplated by the awards: Leya (2018); Jabuti (2020), Oceanos (2020), 'touches a deep wound' of Brazil's ills. Slavery, coronelismo, the absence of basi c rights and the dignity of the human perso n, are points constantly reverberated in the work. Written by Itamar Vieira Júnior, a Bahian author, he holds a PhD in ethnic and African studies from the Federal University of Bahia and a public servant at the Na tional Institute of Colonization and Agrari an Reform (INCRA), with his experience in the Bahian hinterland, he was inspired by the construction of this novel. Our objective in this dissertation is to discuss the social function of the land from the perspec tive of Torto arado with the possibility of dialogues between literature and law. Over the decades, Literature and Law have been gaining more and more space in the Brazilian academy. Even in the existence of several works that take different directions, ex ploring a variety of themes, investigating the social function of the land in the literary apex is rich for academic reflections. The theoretical contribution was supported by the study of authors who helped in the construction, foundation and scientificit y of the present study, such as: Itamar Vie ira Júnior (2018); Guimarães Rosa (1986); Bernardo Élis (1983); Graciliano Ramos (2019); Euclides da Cunha (2020); Brandão (2007); Gonçalves (2020); Turtle (2020); Candido (1995); Trindade e Bernsts (2017); Streck e Karam (2018); Laraia (2006); Schuler (20 00). The sweeping novel, sharpens the senses and makes us reflect, whether in the literary or social context, the problems of our country.
