Abstract

Among patients who seek to maintain a younger appearance, the commonly accepted complaints are wrinkles, sagging, changes in texture and dyschromia of the periorbital region, for which several therapeutic options have been described, including plasma radiofrequency. The present study aimed to evaluate the safety of the Spectra Plasma device for the rejuvenation of the periorbital region. This is an experimental, longitudinal, prospective, randomized, single-blind cohort study. Forty participants were selected to compose two groups: control and experiment. Participants were integrated into three biweekly sessions with the so-called ball tip, and two sessions with a monthly interval with safe needle. The aspects investigated were sagging, wrinkles, texture, hydration and dyschromia of the treated skin, in addition to the occurrence of adverse effects. With the satisfaction survey, the analysis of the difference in the optimization of the search frequency function of the difference in the weighting base between the groups used with the ball tip in improving the quality of the skin there was no statistic, GE p=0.04, GC p =0.04, GC p=0.04. When analyzing the participants selected by the ablative examination was performed with needle erythema, crusts, in 100% group experiment. Re-epithelialization and normalization of skin appearance occurred within 11 days. There was transient dyschromia in 30.8% of the EG participants. Based on the satisfaction survey of the results and macroscopic analysis of adverse effects, it is concluded that the safe needle ablative electrode presented the best rejuvenation in macroscopic analysis and no more adverse effects compared to the ball tip electrode.
