Abstract

Environmental economic valuation is a method used to provide an economic value for an ecological good. In order to demonstrate the effectiveness this method, the Serra Dourada-GO State Park is used in the research as an environmental heritage to be valued, demonstrating its social, economic and ecological importance for the region that is inserted, analyzing not only the monetary function of the method, but also of environmental awareness. The objective of this research is to demonstrate the relationship between environmental economic valuation and environmental law, outlining historical, physical and geographical aspects of the Serra Dourada environmental heritage, describing and analyzing the methods of environmental economic valuation, obtaining an existence value for the State Park Serra Dourada. The research was structured in three chapters, the first explains what is the method of environmental economic valuation relating to legal aspects. In the second chapter, the Serra Dourada State Park (PESD) is described, describing physical, geographic, historical and tourist aspects for the region. And the third chapter presents the results found in the application of the field research, in a virtual way, bringing the value of the Willingness to Pay (DAP) that the interviewees are willing to spend economically to maintain the conservation of the pay.
