O II Plano nacional de desenvolvimento (II PND-1975-1979) e o desenvolvimento do Estado de Goiás

Abstract

It studies the impacts of II National Development Plan (II PND) on the development of the State of Goiás. It addresses the concept of growth and economic development outlining the difference the terms and their applications. From the literature search, studies the regional concentration and devolution, from the perspective of the uneven distribution of the territory development. It makes discussion about the State role like economic agent and their intervention levels on the promotion of growth and economic development and in search of a better distribution of these on the different regions. It studies the evolution of the economic dynamics of the State of Goiás, making a record since the beginning of the economic appropriation of the Goiás territory by capital until the agricultural modernization occurred in the twentieth century. Discusses the territory and border concepts, as well as the economic ownership of these via expansion fronts and pioneer fronts, subsequently, makes a discussion of politics and of government planning programs and State intervention in the economy practiced in Brazil in World War II until the II National Development Plan, searching always highlight the impact of each one about the Goiás development. It further explores the II National Development Plan and its programs, in special the PERGEB and the POLOCENTRO, assuming the premise that they were more important for Goiás inside the context of regional development. Provide itself with tables and graphs with data about the production of goods and services and social indicators with verifications instruments of occurrence of growth and economic development between 1970 and 1980, always comparing that is possible the Goiás evolution with the national evolution. Makes final considerations on which checks that the study period there was growth and economic development in Goiás motivated by the State intervention proposed by the II PND, wherein despite progress indicators of social welfare in Goiás have higher evolution to national indicators, such developments do not put a higher level of development to national besides having been concentrates wealth.
