A identidade cultural dos jovens do Quilombo Alto Santana : pertencer, valorizar para preservar

Abstract

The project ‘The cultural identity of the youth of Quilombo Alto Santana - belonging, valuing to preserve’ aims to contribute to the strengthening of Quilombo Alto Santana in terms of the recognition and appreciation of Afro-Brazilian culture in Goiás. Its objective is to help the youth of Quilombo Alto Santana understand the process of recognition and belonging to this space, their cultural identity, the recognition of their quilombola ancestry; the resistance to, and confrontation of, social and cultural discrimination; and the importance of knowing and preserving cultural roots in memory for the strengthening and representation of the Quilombo. It is expected that, given the results of the research, the youth of Quilombo Alto Santana will become interested in their cultural identity, the collective memory of the Quilombo, as well as heritage and preservation, and that they can strengthen the identity relationships of these youth with their community and their actions in the recognition and appreciation of the Quilombo as a space of cultural and social representation. And they can also contribute to the recognition of Quilombo as part of Vilaboense's historical-cultural heritage and to the construction of an awareness focused on its preservation.
