Abstract

This research was developed by the Post Graduation Program of Education, State University of Goiás, Inhumas unity. It discusses the relation between art, culture and education, based on Jean-Paul Sartre’s philosophy, having as a guide his piece “What is literature?”. We seek to reflect and comprehend the concepts of literature, education and aesthetic. We comprehend that education is open and receptive to diverse knowledge. It also defends the emergency of thinking of literature as a living work of art, gesture of generosity and moment of interconnection of freedom. We seek to demonstrate how education is present in a variability of social spaces and extra scholars. We seek to comprehend the idea of liberty, art and literature production as movements that impel education, leading to the comprehension of the way of conducting of being. We seek to demonstrate through argumentation and based on bibliographic evidence that literature and art are intimately linked, that literature only becomes itself while gestures of generosity. We defend the basis of Sartre’s thought and the pertinence of his philosophy related to discussions of the educational area. Our goal was to comprehend how literature sensitizes exchange and transforms human beings, therefore, we reaffirm the idea that literature edifies because it is highly significant, a fruit of language that rises from social interactions, experiences, sentiments and emotions experienced by human beings. What we sought in this research was to accomplish the movement of being open to a bigger vision about education and how educational processes are permeated by daily life dynamics.
