Abstract

"Education is alive" (Silva, 2021, p.114). This statement provided some ramifications in this research. Professional insertion of language teachers is alive. Emotions are alive. Teacher (dis)identifications are alive. That is, everything is based on a context of movement, there is nothing motionless. There is a beating heart, in which it is often disregarded for reason alone. Reason and emotion, feel and think, blush and feel. These are some terms that go along with this text, in the effort to approximate what in many moments is seen as a rupture, where in the classroom the bodies do not enter entirely, only reason has its place (hooks, 2013). For that matter, the objective of this dissertation, which is part of the research line Language and Social Practices, is to problematize how graduates of the course of Portuguese/ English Letters, from a public university in the state of Goiás, feel and think their process of professional insertion. Therefore, the specific objectives refer to: a) discuss how graduates/those of the Portuguese/English Letters course of a public university in the state of Goiás perceive their process of professional insertion in the teaching of languages; b) reflect on emotions and (dis)identifications that flow in the professional insertion of these graduates. For this, the methodology used is part of the qualitative-interpretative (Moita Lopes, 1994), but goes beyond, in the search for "other horizons" (Silvestre and Rosa-da-Silva, 2022). In this sense, the construction of empirical (i)material was carried out through conversations (Ribeiro, 2023) with 14 graduates/those of a Portuguese/English Letters course, which were conducted remotely. Considering that this text brings with it a journey through the salt waters as a metaphor, the final stop of the vessel allows some reflections, but I place one as the main: to separate professional insertion from emotions and teacher (dis)identifications is an effort made without success, they always intertwine
