Abstract
The purpose of this dissertation was to understand the teaching-learning process of the
theme human body in the Biology and Physical Education disciplines in High School
and to create an interdisciplinary didactic sequence to work on this subject. The idea of
the research was based on a personal uneasiness derived from experiences of teaching
the human body theme in Physical Education classes for high school students. The
dissertation was divided into three chapters: the first aims to analyze the human body
theme in the Biology and Physical Education disciplines based on the official
documents. The second chapter is a case study in two schools in the municipality of
Ceres-GO. The objective was to know and analyze the syllabus and teaching-learning
process of the human body theme in the Biology and Physical Education disciplines in
two public schools (state and federal). Field data collection took place through the
application of structured questionnaires to teachers and students. The third chapter
refers to the educational product, an interdisciplinary didactic sequence that aims to
provide an integrative teaching of the human body theme in the disciplines of Biology
and Physical Education, reducing the fragmentation of content related to the subject in
High School. The educational product was evaluated by the teachers participating in the
research. Overall, the analysis of the data reveals that the participating teachers are
young and most are aware of how the subject human body is proposed in the official
documents for teaching in the school. The teachers emphasized that there is a need to
reduce the fragmentation of the topic, suggesting starting with the organization of the
curriculum. For most students in both schools the definition of human body was
categorized as biological. We believe that interdisciplinary work involving two or more
disciplines may be a favorable path for contextualized and less fragmented teaching.
