Aspectos organizacionais e argumentativos do gênero textual artigo de opinião

Abstract

This work argues that language is constituted in interaction. In this case, language is seen as a dynamic and socio-interactionally dependent process. Thus, linguistic expressions, even when expressed in situations of greater monitoring, such as writing opinion articles, reveal the knowledge, beliefs and judgments that each speaker makes of reality. Based on this premise, in this research, we intend to analyze the organizational and argumentative aspects of the textual genre opinion article. The theoretical assumptions are centered on the functionalist perspective of language defended by Neves (2000), Furtado da Cunha (2006), Castilho (2010), Givón (2001), Hopper and Thompson (1980), Cunha and Souza (2011); as well as in the theory of textual genres (BAKHTIN, 2003; MARCUSCHI, 2008; BEZERRA, 2022; MELO, 2003; ADAM, 2008; BRONCKART, 2006). The present work constitutes a research with a qualitative approach in which the corpus of analysis is 09 opinion articles, published in November 2021 in the newspaper “Folha de São Paulo”. The analysis seeks to describe the organizational aspects, such as style, composition and theme of the opinion article genre; as well as the process of transitivity of dicendi verbs contributes to the construction of arguments in the text- corpus. The result of the analysis of the 9 opinion articles points to a constancy in the composition of the articles, regarding the argumentation, we noticed that the writers use dicendi verbs as frequent discursive strategies to substantiate and support arguments in their opinion articles. It is worth mentioning, in this sense, the importance of considering the language in use when analyzing any linguistic phenomenon, which is the main premise of functionalism, on which this research is anchored.
