Expansão canavieira e os reflexos socioeconômicos no município de Goianésia(GO), 1970-2010

Abstract

This dissertation focuses on studies on the socio-economic consequences in the municipality of Goianésia, arising from sugarcane expansion in the state of Goiás. The study was aimed at describing the paths taken, chosen projects and policies developed during the implementation of agricultural modernization and the consequences of this process in the socioeconomic structure of the area surveyed. The methodology used for research is based on literature review and document the issue of agricultural modernization, sugarcane expansion and the process of public policies overlapping the object of this research council. Structured if a bank state data of Goiás, the micro Ceres and Goianésia to analyze the consequences of the modernization process in this municipality. The main variables for structuring the database of the region were the main crops planted and harvested area, production and productivity, agricultural occupation in major crops, population growth, employment, income, GDP, land concentration and among other variablesThey were considered essential for the analysis. On the analyzes performed allow us to infer that Goianésia has as main economic potential, the sugar cane industry that a new dynamic has been established in this city, marked by agricultural modernization. It concludes that the socio-economic consequences caused by agricultural modernization and interwoven in Goianésia made themselves from the territorial space and figured this is a cyclical process, the factors that emanate from the present economic and political power established in the region.
