Abstract

The theory of meaningful learning emphasizes the importance of valuing the student's previous knowledge, giving rise to more significant new knowledge. The research is justified by the need for greater understanding of this concept, and the possibility of putting it into practice in the classroom. The general objective of the research was to analyze how the technologies that can contribute to the creation of meaningful learning contexts in the teaching of the subject of black and afrodescendant people, according to the BNCC curricular parameters and to propose a process (guide) for the application of technologies in classes for the teaching the content of the subject to high school students. The methodology used in the research was a bibliographic review, document analysis and, later, the analysis of how technology could be used in the classroom, with students of the 3rd year of high school. Authors such as Ausubel served as the basis for the construction of the theoretical framework, a reference when dealing with meaningful learning. A methodological research was also carried out which gave rise to a guide and detailed lesson plans to be used by teachers within the teaching of History, making it possible to achieve meaningful learning. The research demonstrated that it is possible to use technology in the production of meaningful learning, as proposed in the format of a guide in this work, in which it is essential to plan classes, value the knowledge that the student has, motivation for learning, generating possibilities for the student to produce new knowledge and that these are significant in their life context. Even with the difficulties encountered, the research may, in the future, be carried out, evaluating the results of the guide in practice and highlighting the possibilities of developing meaningful learning.
