Abstract

This research aims to present a proposal for a creative and transdisciplinary pedagogical practice for teaching swimming to babies. The study's problem arises in view of the author's concern when identifying a lack of pedagogical practices that guide the pedagogical practice of swimming for babies from a multidimensional perspective, as well as the need to promote training environments for this age group. In this sense, since the research object is formed by the author's own narratives in contact with different environments and individuals, the study consists of an autoethnographic research with a qualitative approach, which dialogues especially with Vigotski's (2000) discussions; Papalia and Feldman (2022) and Suanno (2014). The empirical material of the study is composed of four categories of analysis that emerged from the miscellany of reference literature, in contact with the author's pedagogical practice. This material does not refer to a reproduction manual for teachers, but to central themes relevant to swimming for babies, which will open ways for them to produce meanings in their pedagogical practices, through a creative, integral and sensitive look at the figure of the baby, so that both the students themselves, the teacher, and also the child's parents, feel safe and happy in the learning process presented here.
