Abstract

The methods of classification, characterization and correlation are helpful on the better knowing of the soil, their pedogenetic processes and the better practices of management. This study aims to classify, correlate and characterize seven profiles of soil, with very different superficial characteristics, under distinct systems of use and management to the pastures and native forests, in the Cerrado biome. The collect and classification of the Soils followed the Handbook of Field Methods and the Brazilian System of Soil Classification, respectively. The Soils were classified until the sixth categoric level of the system. The characterization and correlation of the profiles were realized through the discussion of its morphological, physics, chemical and mineralogical aspects. Profiles 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 were submitted to their classifications in accord with the types of soils. We made the possible observations about the management system adopted in the profiles, supporting, thus, their physical and chemical qualities. The sampling and classification of the soil were conducted on 5 soil profiles in open trenches with 2 meters of profundity in distinct places of the Livestock Forest Integration area and inside a legal reserve of Woods, next to the Livestock Forest Integration area, in the Serrano farm on the city of Palmeiras de Goias-GO.
